Asheville, North CarolinaAsheville is such fun place for a weekend getaway. SO MANY (CRAFT) BEERS, so many dogs, lots of flannels and so many dudes with beards. The city just feels homey if that makes sense, it's a very comfortable, easy-going place not to mention the charm of it is awesome too.
| Where We AteWe LOVED all of the food in Asheville! So many comforting things to eat, so little time.
BUXTON HALL BBQ
Favorite stop of the trip, by far. Don't go to Asheville and NOT eat here. Loved the fried chicken sandwich, the hush puppies so much and the pulled pork was also amazing. BARTACO
I think this place might be a bit of a chain but I really liked how cute it was inside and the tacos were really good. GAN SHAN STATION
Pretty sure it's my unofficial duty to seek out the best Asian food in every city Bryant and I visit. Gotta have my noodles and dumplings - this place was real good. | Where We DrankHonestly, there's so many breweries in Asheville. If you're into the craft and quality of beer and how it's made - you're in the right place.
BURIAL BEER CO.
Had so much fun here, we actually went twice! Like most places in Asheville, the beer menu was really interesting and unique but we just loved the cozy basement vibes and the fact that it was dog friendly! THE FUNKATORIM
If sour beers are your jam, this is where you'll wanna be. WEDGE BREWING CO.
We loved this little wedge of a brewery! It's tiny, but fun. Lots of quirky decor too! | Where We StayedWe stayed about 20 minutes away from everything in a cute little tiny home Airbnb cottage!
We've been to Asheville twice. The first time we stayed a short Uber ride away in a more private, quiet place. We didn't mind staying outside of the city at all, and it probably would have been a lot more fun if it wasn't the middle of winter and it was warmer and prettier outside. The second time we did a couple nights in a loft apartment right in the center of downtown. To be completely honest, we liked our first stay better, there were some strange folks in the park across from our apartment downtown and it didn't feel unsafe -- but it also didn't feel as comfortable as our decision to stay right outside the city the first time. It just depends on what kind of trip you are looking for!
All said and done, we really loved Asheville. It's a really fun city with great food, a great beer scene and lots and lots of dog friendly places!
